My friend has the quintessential summer top: J Crew, gingham, sweetheart neckline/halter combo, i.e. perfect. I attempted to find a summer gingham top to call my own last month and discovered this top by Gemma; I haven't pulled the trigger yet as it only started warming up here in Chicago. I have, however, quenched my insatiable thirst for gingham (giant, mind you) in the meantime with the J Crew shirt I bought last weekend.

LOVE that APC bikini! I've ben debating about a gingham top I saw (on sale) at Anthro. Super cute, with a tie/wrap in front, You might want to check it out. I also say "Robin" wear it on How I Met Your Mother. And that Topshop skirt is sooo Dorothy :)

i'm getting that bathing suit. mark my words. i like how retro cuts are able to cover the modern beer gut. not from personal experience, obviously.
I love gingham, though I do always worry that I'm going to look like a six-year-old in it. That Joie shirt is ABSOLUTELY darling, though, and would definitely help me get over this fear.
