As I reflected on our wedding day a year ago, I couldn't help but think of the honeymoon that followed a few months later. Bali was completely magical and as I browsed through the recent J. Crew catalog, the memories flooded my thoughts. While many of my memories are mere moments in time, I love that every time I see an ikat print, I think of my honeymoon. Ikat is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that is native to Indonesia and there are many beautiful variations. It's been super popular in the design world over the last few years and I love that I've been seeing it pop into fashion pieces here and there for the past couple seasons.

The clutch is beautiful. I also like the chair, but it seems problematic to buy furniture in a trendy print.
I agree, Ikat s such a fun print! And there are so many different color and dying combos that it never looks the same :)
(YAY! Happy Anniversary!)

That clutch goes with everything in my wardrobe! Bali is a romantic honeymoon destination! Great pick =)
I love it. I just learned what it was called from this great Refinery 21 post about the correct names for various prints that seem to get lumped together and generally called "ethnic prints."
We have some gorgeous red ikat skinny jeans at Anthro right now that I want so badly.
Great finds! I just did a ikat outfit post a few weeks ago!

I'm from India and I adore ikat prints. Seeing ikat interpreted in western styles is fun! I just did a post myself with an ikat bag.
